Scotty Accepts the Challenge of McBride
Poker games have always been the favourable choice for me. I am a regular online poker player and spend hours placing bets and playing my best hands in this game. I really cherish witnessing great players betting on simple combinations and taking the upper hand just because of their confidence. Such games have a special spice in them as they have something more than a normal poker game. It shows a player’s confidence and sometimes the best players also get bluffed against such confidence. This challenge was more than enough to beat Kevin McBride in 1998 WSOP.
Kevin McBride was playing a tough hand against Scotty who was calm enough to handle a pressure situation. In the final table the board turns out a combination of a couple of 9 and triple combination of 8. Scotty threw the challenge on McBride with “You call, gonna be all over baby”. McBride without hesitation played the board with confidence when Scotty dropped down jack of diamond and 9 from clubs. This completed the bigger full house outraging McBride. The game was an absolute stunner because it was a contest of confidence rather than a poker game. It was glamorous to see the two players playing cool and accepting challenges of each other.
It is still one of the most remarkable games for me which helped me and taught me to play calm and with bigger confidence. If you have the zeal you can win with any combination.
